Aesha Porterfield is the owner and founder of Phoenix Grooming Studio. Growing up in West Philadelphia, she remembers her grandfather taking her to a local barbershop and being amazed at the transformations she saw in the patrons there. She knew she wanted a part of that world and it started on her path to becoming a business owner. Following high school, she earned her cosmetology license at Gordon Phillips Beauty School. After years of working as a stylist in a variety of salons and finding herself largely unsatisfied with the management style of those she worked under, Aesha decided to open a shop of her own. She started with Uncut Salon for Men in 2011 and merged with her then second store Harper’s Classic Cuts, named in honor of her grandfather. In 2020, the need to transcend required another change and renovated her shop under is current name, Phoenix Grooming Studio. Which represents a rebirth. Although she continues to honor her grandfather’s legacy, this latest rebranding is all about bringing her own energy and vibe to the table. At Phoenix Grooming Studio you can expect a culture of relaxation, self-care, and overall well-being.
